Scar tissue can be hard to treat, as it’s fibrous which is why it looks and feels different to the rest of your skin. Skin needling based treatments can help break down the scar tissue, so that it dissipates and ultimately disappears over a course of treatments.
PRP, delivering better results
The PRP Facial consists of PRP applied to skin that has been prepared by an automatic microneedle. Thise micro-needling makes tiny “wounds” in the skin which accept the PRP serum and begins the process of collagen creation along with the tissue enhancement from growth factors found in the plasma serum.
Whilst micro-needling can be an effective way of treating scars on its own, when combined with PRP the results can be twice as effective.
PRP can be a simple and effective way to permanently banish acne scars together with micro-needling. This is because you’re getting duel benefits, the PRP helps the skin repair and rejuvenate, whilst the micro-needling itself helps break down the scar tissue.
Because acne scars are depressed, you may wish to consider including dermal fillers in your treatment plan to help smooth the surface of your skin.
How does it work?
A small vial of blood is taken from your arm, less than that normally taken for routine blood tests. The blood is then placed in a vial and spun in a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells and plasma. The process concentrates the platelet count to about 4X normal. It is this platelet-rich plasma that is then activated and injected into the skin or applied topically in a surface regeneration action.
PRP Therapy Used as Laser Resurfacing Enhancement
Fractional CO2 laser treatments are known for their ability to re-texture skin. Adding PRP takes laser resurfacing to a new level by accelerating healing and increasing desired new collagen formation. Following your Fractional CO2 laser treatment, activated PRP serum is applied to skin that is ideally suited to accept the wound-healing platelet serum.
Advantages of PRP Rejuvenation
- Uses your own natural platelets so there is no risk of allergic reaction
- Natural collagen is formed in response to the presence of the activated platelets
- PRP is ideal for the patient who does not want any synthetic fillers
- There is little to no swelling, bruising or lumping as the fluid assimilates in the natural skin environment
- PRP can be used to enhance Laser procedures for faster and improved healing
- PRP Therapy is equally as effective in men as in women
- Can provide outstanding results either with or without the use of underlying fillers
Micro Needling – A new way to make collagen
The process is called Collagen Induction Therapy and is used to improve:
- Texture and tone
- Surface scarring
- Fine wrinkles
Micro needling is based on the use of tiny needles to create tiny holes in the skin. The process stimulates your skin’s natural ability to heal itself and in the process produces collagen and elastin.
This repair process begins almost immediately and results in a thicker dermis and softened wrinkles or scars. There is no tissue destruction with micro needling. The small channels in the epidermis close very quickly and the skin begins a healing response right away. Depending on the depth of the skin defect, you may see only redness or you may experience some pinpoint bleeding which stops almost immediately.
